せんしゅう

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is doing well still. I am doing great here in Japan. Recently I haven't done too much, just eating a bunch of stuff. We went to Round One which is like a sports entertainment place, with games on the roof like in movies :) . I have posted some pictures, they are starring my friends. (Shinya, Ayaka, Nao, Sydney, Veronica, Kasey, Xenia, Nate) and I'm not sure else. ^^

Fushimi Inari

Today I went to Fushimi Inari. It was a fairly long hike, but it was awesome. So cool to see all the shrines and stuff on the mountain.

Konnichiwa!

こんにちは!
(Konnichiwa)

I am still here in Japan just about 4 weeks into the program (Can you believe it?). I have been here almost a month and it has been great. I am really liking school, and I am learning Japanese slowly but surely. Today I went to Osaka Castle, Tennoji temple, and Namba. It was a busy day traveling around on the trains and stuff but it was fun. Osaka Castle is huge, and there were many street vendors selling great food. Tennoji temple was fun as well, but they were closed for special ceremonies, since today was a holiday. I am posting some pictures, large portion of which are going to be from my friends ^^. i will get a camera momentarily. But i have a new picture blog from another website, the link is

Curtis In 日本

I will be posting pictures there because its easier. Thanks for checking up! If you have any quesitons or something send me an email.

First Few Days

Hello everyone! This is officially my first post on my blog. Hooray! Well I am here in Hirakata, Japan; slightly NE of Osaka. It has been an adventurous first few days. I arrived on Saturday the 29th at Kansai Gaidai University. The dorms are really nice, and I share a room with a guy from Astonia via England, he is cool too. The Japanese students that live with us in the dorms are fun to talk to, although it is tough not speaking anything but desperate Japanese. Everyone I ever talk to assumes that I speak Japanese, so I will have to learn quickly.

My second day here, Grant and I went to see some of his family in Hiroshima. They don't speak much English so it was tough at first, but lots of pointing and hand motioning later it was fine. Hiroshima was a great place, very beautiful. From there we continued on to Miyajima, an island like place that is also very nice. I will be posting some pictures eventually. To get there we had to take the subways, and the bullet train. It is pretty easy to get around, the trains are in English, and everything went smoothly. Walking or bicycle is the method for local travel though. i think I have already lost a few pounds because 1) walk everywhere! 2) sweat more than a sauna 3) sweat 4) too hot to eat during the day 5) walk Everywhere! But other than that it is all great.

So far all has been great. Thanks for reading, and hopefully some pictures will be up soon.
